The Chicago City Council is set to vote on the 202

The Chicago City Council is set to vote on the 2025 budget tomorrow morning, and we need our alders to hear about our priorities before the vote happens! Call your alderperson TODAY to make sure the budget includes funding to make sure our neighborhoods safer and our neighborhoods have greater access to housing. With threats to funding to vital programs that sustain our communities, your voice is needed to make sure our city council includes funding for the right items in this next year's budget.

Members of our Police Accountability Team and Econ

Members of our Police Accountability Team and Economic and Budget Justice Team turned out to City Hall this morning to support the introduction of the Public Health and Safety Budget Amendment! This amendment would move $170 million allocated for vacant officer positions in the CPD budget toward measures like Peacebook and the Department of Public Health. We support effective public safety spending, directing dollars to programs that make a real impact!

**UPDATE!** We have added additional drop off times for our Toy Drive, and made it an option to donate directly to the team so they can buy extra toys if needed! Drop off toys at our office at 4648 N Racine Tues-Thurs, 9am-5pm before December 12, or on Sat Dec14 between 11am-1pm. The next public meeting of the Consent Decree hear

The next public meeting of the Consent Decree hearings is Tuesday, December 10. The court is interested in hearing community feedback on issues related to policing. You can apply to comment at the hearing before Monday, December 9 at bit.ly/consentdecreeCHI. Tune in to the Zoom to watch the hearing at bit.ly/zoomdec10.

Dear ONE Northside community! We're calling on YOU to help kids in our neighborhoods who have been affected by gun violence have a brighter Christmas this year. Please consider contributing to our Violence Prevention team's annual Toy Drive. When you're out shopping this weekend or during this season, pick up an extra toy, game, gift card, book or other gift for a child or teen in our community!

You can ship gifts directly to ONE Northside leader Esther, to arrive before December 13 (email LBDFA@hotmail.com for shipping address), bring your gift to our Membership Council (register at bit.ly/MCdecember2024), or drop off at our office in Uptown on Saturday, December 14 between 11am-1pm.

On Tuesday, November 26 our Violence Prevention team will be in Rogers Park doing their annual Turkey Giveaway for Thanksgiving! All families who may need a turkey are welcome to come. Turkeys are first come, first served, and please bring a cart or bag to carry your turkey home. Pick up spots: 3pm at United Church of Rogers Park; 4pm at Willye B White Park; 5pm at Pottawattomie Park; 6pm 747 W Howard (hot meals served here). Thanks to @communitiespartnering4peace and @metropolitanpeaceinitiatives for supporting our Light in the Night events.
